Two Australian universities to open campuses in Noida and Greater Noida

Western Sydney University’s India campus – named Jalsetu, meaning ‘water bridge’ – will take three floors of Tower-2 in the Greater Noida Authority’s own office complex, with an expected start in December 2026. It was showcased during a New South Wales trade mission led by Premier Chris Minns and Treasurer Daniel Mookhey, which added new scholarships, a Centre of Excellence for water security and digital innovation, and a Master’s in Sustainable Water Management from 2027. Greater Noida Authority CEO NG Ravi Kumar committed institutional support.

The bigger picture that many will miss: the UGC has issued Letters of Intent to three Australian universities to set up Indian campuses – Western Sydney (Greater Noida), Victoria University (Noida) and La Trobe (Bengaluru). In other words, the Noida and Greater Noida region is landing two of the country’s three approved Australian campuses.

For the property market, the mechanism is the familiar and reliable one: a genuine education hub brings students and faculty, which builds steady, year-round demand for rental housing and local services, which supports values over time. The honest framing is that these campuses are just starting – Western Sydney is targeting a December 2026 opening – so the housing-demand effect builds gradually over the coming years rather than immediately. For long-term investors near these campuses, it is a real and differentiated demand driver worth tracking.
