New Rs 270 crore Hindon river bridge to cut the Noida to Greater Noida commute, targeted to open this month

A new six-lane, 290-metre bridge over the Hindon river is nearing completion, connecting the Aqua Line’s Sector 146 metro station in Noida to Knowledge Park 3 in Greater Noida. Its value is in what it bypasses: the Pari Chowk and Noida Expressway / Surajpur-Kulesra Road bottleneck that clogs the existing route. The claimed benefit is a cut in the Sector 168 to Surajpur trip from about 45 minutes to roughly 25.

The cost tells its own story – the project was launched in 2019 at about Rs 75.5 crore and now stands at around Rs 270 crore, a reminder of how much delays add to infrastructure bills. As of early August, about 810 metres of the Noida-side approach road was complete, with roughly 150 metres pending on the Greater Noida side, plus a pending high-tension power line relocation. It is officially targeted to open before the UPITS trade show (September 25-29).

For daily commuters and for buyers along the Sector 146 and Knowledge Park corridor, a bridge that genuinely halves a common trip is one of the most tangible everyday upgrades on offer – the kind of connectivity that makes a location more practical to live in and can support demand over time. The honest caveat is the opening date: a stretch of approach road and a power-line shift are still pending, and this project has slipped before, so treat the September target as a goal to confirm rather than a certainty. It is well worth watching for the actual opening.
