The long-awaited Keshavnagar-Kharadi flyover, near Godrej Infinity in Mundhwa, opens to traffic today at 4 PM. It is being inaugurated by Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Ajit Pawar, Higher Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Pune’s Mayor and Municipal Commissioner.
The 411-metre, 24-metre-wide, seven-span bridge (tender value about Rs 23.47 crore) directly connects Keshavnagar and Kharadi – one of Pune’s most important IT-corridor micro-markets – eliminating what was previously a roughly 6km detour and cutting travel time by about 30 minutes. It is two-way from day one.
For Kharadi and Mundhwa, the significance runs deeper than the minutes saved. Reduced commute friction on an IT-corridor route is one of the more durable drivers of rental and resale demand – the kind of everyday-convenience upgrade that tends to firm up prices across the catchment around it. For buyers and investors tracking this belt, it is worth watching how quickly the improved connectivity feeds through to the micro-market.
