Pune Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram has chaired a coordination meeting between PMC, Maha-Metro and the Traffic Police to ensure several major infrastructure projects are planned together rather than in silos. The projects include the Ramwadi-Shirur double-decker flyover-with-Metro, the Vanaz-Chandni Chowk Metro-with-integrated-flyover, the Solapur Road double-decker bridge-with-Metro, and the HCMTR (High Capacity Mass Transit Route).
Concrete outcomes include joint planning of entry and exit ramps and grade separations at Gunjan Chowk, integrated HCMTR-Metro design at intersection points, unified parking near Metro stations within 500 metres, and shared traffic data between agencies. Officials were given seven days to report back on possible changes to the Ramwadi-Shirur alignment.
Most buyers do not realise how many major transit projects are running across Pune at once. For property, the areas sitting at the intersection of two or more of these projects – Gunjan Chowk, Solapur Road, Vanaz – are worth watching for connectivity-driven appreciation, though near-term construction disruption is part of the trade-off.
