MHADA extends its 4,462-flat Pune lottery deadline as 50,000+ applications pour in

The application deadline for MHADA’s 4,462-unit Pune, PCMC and PMRDA affordable-housing lottery – spanning roughly Rs 11-64 lakh homes – was extended from September 15 to October 15 after online income-verification and domicile portals could not keep pace. Over 50,000 applications had already been received for the 4,462 units.

More than ten applicants for every available flat is a stark measure of how far affordable-housing supply lags demand in the Pune region.

For buyers in the affordable segment, MHADA lotteries remain one of the few routes to genuinely affordable, regulated homes – worth applying to, while keeping expectations realistic given the odds. The demand gap also explains why well-priced launches sell fast.
