Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi has confirmed that the district administration’s infrastructure and traffic action plan for Hinjawadi and its surrounding villages is complete – further advanced, he said, than the parallel Chakan plan that triggered direct state intervention this month. The plan is expected to be presented to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in September for review and approval.
It targets the traffic congestion, inadequate roads and strained civic amenities that have long dogged Hinjawadi despite its status as Pune’s largest IT employment hub, and emphasises multi-agency coordination (MIDC, PMRDA, gram panchayats, PCMC) as the key to fixing it this time.
For the Hinjawadi corridor – one of Pune’s biggest rental and end-user markets – this is a “plan ready, not yet approved” story: encouraging, but the real test is execution after the September review. Worth tracking as it moves from plan to approval to work on the ground.
