After a year-long contest between Adani, Vedanta and (earlier) Patanjali, the Committee of Creditors backed Adani’s Rs 14,543 crore resolution plan for Jaiprakash Associates (JAL) in late 2025, the NCLT sanctioned it in March 2026, and on May 4, 2026 the appellate tribunal (NCLAT) upheld the plan and rejected Vedanta’s late attempt to revise its bid. That clears Adani’s control of JAL’s asset base – which includes Jaypee Greens in Greater Noida, Jaypee International Sports City (and the Buddh International Circuit F1 track) near Jewar, and the entity that collects toll on the Yamuna Expressway. This is separate from Jaypee Infratech (Wish Town), which Suraksha Group took over in 2024.

Resolving a decade-old insolvency of this size removes a long cloud over some of the region’s biggest legacy assets and puts them under a large, well-capitalised owner.

For buyers and owners connected to these Jaypee assets, a resolved ownership picture is generally positive – it replaces years of uncertainty with a clear promoter. As with any transition, watch how the new owner actually treats existing homebuyers and projects; ownership clarity is the start, delivery is what counts.
