Uttar Pradesh has proposed a ‘Singapore City’ of about 500 acres in Sector 7 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region, near Noida International Airport at Jewar. The idea emerged around a meeting in Lucknow between Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a 14-member delegation of Singaporean industrialists and investors, led by Singapore Business Federation chairperson Mark Lee, who toured industrial areas in Noida and Greater Noida during the visit. The delegation signalled interest in logistics and warehousing, semiconductors and electronics, data centres, cloud and AI, green energy (including solar and green hydrogen), waste management, water recycling, urban planning and hospitality. No specific investment figure or timeline has been attached to the Singapore City itself – it remains a proposal. Around the same meeting, though, concrete deals did move: Greater Nashik Infracon (linked to the Singapore-based Universal Success Enterprises Group) received an eligibility certificate for a Rs 775 crore ‘Universal Packaging Hub’ on 50 acres in YEIDA Sector 8D, expected to create about 1,880 jobs, alongside MoUs with Agrocorp International (food protein) and Blue Planet Environmental Solutions (waste processing, Rs 250-350 crore). The CM framed it within a wider push – about Rs 60,000 crore of investment agreements from his February 2026 Singapore visit, more than 75,000 acres available for industry and 27 integrated manufacturing and logistics clusters under development.

The pattern worth noting is the one that keeps repeating around Jewar: global investors and named manufacturing deals clustering near the airport, which is what slowly turns an industrial land bank into real jobs and, eventually, real housing demand.

For buyers, the honest framing is important here. A branded ‘Singapore City’ near the airport is a strong headline and a genuine vote of confidence in the Jewar belt, but it is at the proposal stage with no size-confirmed allotment, investment figure or timeline yet – and announcements like this are exactly what tend to trigger premature hype and unauthorised plotting on agricultural land in the surrounding villages. The solid, bankable parts of this story are the named, certificate-backed deals (such as the Rs 775 crore packaging hub) and the broader jobs build-out around Jewar, which support long-term housing demand. Treat the Singapore City itself as something to track rather than act on, and until YEIDA formally notifies and allots sanctioned sectors, stick to RERA-registered projects with clear title and be very wary of anyone selling ‘Singapore City’ plots today.
