The land question around Jewar remains live. Farmers across Gautam Buddh Nagar who gave up holdings for Noida International Airport and YEIDA’s sectors continue to press the authority for faster allotment of abadi (residential) plots and higher compensation. YEIDA, for its part, says it has paid around Rs 2,986 crore in additional compensation between 2014-15 and 2025-26, and issued abadi-plot reservation letters to 6,263 farmers across 29 villages under its 7 per cent developed-plot policy, of which about 4,246 plots have been developed so far, with the rest being completed in phases.
Behind every new sector and factory launch on the Yamuna belt sits an acquisition, and how fairly and quickly farmers are settled shapes how smoothly – and how litigation-free – those sectors actually get delivered.
For buyers, this is a reminder to check the ground reality of any project on acquired land: clear possession and settled compensation reduce the risk of stays and delays later. It is context rather than a price signal, but it is the kind of context worth asking your developer about before committing in a fast-acquiring belt like this one.
